Grand National Weekend Pushes the Boundaries

Grand National Weekend Pushes the Boundaries

The weekend of 5th and 6th April saw record-breaking demand for the URU service. The Grand National, together with the FA Cup semi-finals, were forecast to generate the biggest betting weekend in sports betting history, with over £300m being wagered.  During peak time on Saturday afternoon we were processing 7 checks per second across our URU platform.

As a result of the successful growth in our URU business, particularly, over the past few months, we have been working with BT to significantly increase platform capacity and create a robust continuity of service plan to meet our clients' ongoing demand for instant ID checking.
