GB has launched its award winning ID verification technology, ID3®, in the travel & leisure sector through a new partnership with ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents). URU will help ABTA members to combat holiday fraud scams and money laundering rackets. It will also support the fight against card-not-present fraud, which cost the industry £24.1 million last year (APACS, 2007).
ID3 technology instantly verifies that a new customer really is who he says he is and if the card he is using is really his. In the UK, URU enables organisations working in the travel & leisure sector to verify customer identity instantly and also provides a transparent audit trail to prove compliance with the Data Protection and Proceeds of Crime Acts.
"The whole process was totally transparent and it was clear to me, as a consumer, that the company takes the whole issue of identity fraud really seriously." (A consumer who had just been “URU-ed” at a client store, London)
